Primary working and employment conditions for the majority of Queensland Health employees are imposed through bonuses and agreements. The company agreement was approved on June 7, 2019 and expiration date of October 31, 2021.The agreement provides for the following salary increases: with compensation issues covered, it was in the best interest of our members to also address ACT Health`s terms. The new agreement recognises the role that working conditions play in the recruitment and retention of staff. The following awards and agreements apply to Queensland Health employees: a copy of the agreement is available here: ACTPS Nursing and Midwifery Enterprise Agreement 2017-2019 While the awards are given by the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission (QIRC), the agreements are negotiated by Queensland Health and Queensland Health staff representatives. After approval by the staff covered by the proposed agreement (through a voting procedure), the agreements are certified by the QIRC. “The new classification structure now contains the old bonus structure and we believe this will solve the problems related to the acquisition and engagement of talented pharmacists in the ACT healthcare system,” said Dale Beasley, Director of the Professionals Australia Act Branch. Queensland Health has seven major agreements that impose rates of pay and other terms and conditions of employment for employees (excluding senior and senior managers). In the vote that ended on April 30, the majority of staff voted “yes” to the new agreement with 91% of voters. This new company agreement provides for salary increases for ACT Health`s healthcare professionals.
